			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you ever thought about your heart&#8217;s desire?  If there was anything in the Universe that you would desire, without limitations, what would that be?  Start a list..it could be a mental list or you can physically write down what you would like.  </p>
<p>What kinds of things are on your list?  Do they make your heart sing when you think about having that experience or situation?  Does your list include things that would make a difference in your life or the lives of others?  If so, in what ways? Is there something that you have been longing to do that keeps getting shoved back on the back burner?</p>
<p>After all, we need to make a living, the kids need to get to soccer practice, then there is college to think about.  We are so busy making a living, it is difficult to think about making a life.  </p>
<p>After acceptance of what you really desire, can you express that desire?  Can you consider it a possibility?  If so, now focus on creating it.  The first step is to accept your state of being about what you REALLY desire and open up to the possibility that you could experience it!  Keep this visual image of what it LOOKS like, what it FEELS like, incorporating all the sensory elements possible.  Everyone has a unique talent and a unique way of expressing and putting that talent to use.  When thinking about your unique talents, include things that you love to do using those talents.  When you lovingly nurture the goodness that lies deep within your spirit or your soul, you will awaken that desire within your heart.  </p>
<p>When thinking about your heart&#8217;s desire, does it also bring up thoughts about your life&#8217;s purpose?  Would living your heart&#8217;s desire help to fulfill what you would regard as your life&#8217;s purpose?  Do we HAVE a life&#8217;s purpose?  Do you often wonder what is the meaning of your life?  What exactly is our life purpose?  It&#8217;s not the end result of our journey, but the destination that&#8217;s important.  We are constantly in a quest for knowing what our life&#8217;s purpose is, yet very few of us find it or even think about what it is or could be.</p>
<p>When thinking about your heart&#8217;s desire, are you thinking about what you need in order to experience what you want?  Could it be such a simple thing as to realize that we are all God&#8217;s creations and that we are all on a journey to uncover the mysteries of life?  </p>
<p>In our desire to connect, are we disconnecting more from who we are and the people that we want to be with and communicate with?</p>

As a practitioner of energetic healing, I knew the power of intentions. There is a website conducting the Intention Experiment for world peace, complying scientific data of the number of people participating.</p>
<p>Would it be possible to focus this intention concerning the storm? Because of increased technology in forecasting weather conditions, we were able to get advance warnings about the approaching storms and tropical depressions.</p>
<p>Many people who are aware of the dynamics of focused intention began to put that into practice. People from all over the world joined in with prayers and intentions for the weather conditions to dissipate. At one point I gave into the panic and fear when hearing that Hurricane Gustave could be a category 5 when it reached our area. This means winds over 155 miles per hour and devastation for everything in its path with storm surges higher than 18 feet above normal. By the time the hurricane came over our area, it had diminished to a category 1-2. Category 1 has winds 74-95 mph and category 2 has winds of 96-110 mph. Although we had much to be grateful for, many people fled from their homes, others still not having water or electricity and still others suffered much destruction of property and some fatalities.</p>
<p>What do you do? Was there time to leave the area? Leaving meant many hours on the road with a possibility that there would not be any gas available. Where would you go? The hurricane could change and go in any direction at a moments notice. What about the home that you were leaving? Do you have enough time to safeguard your property? Many areas had mandatory evacuations. If anything was learned from Hurricane Katrina and Rita, it was being more prepared.</p>
<p>Although there was still destruction, it could have been so much worse.<br />
My area was protected and I am very grateful for that. However, there are more storms that are forming.</p>
<p>My request is for everyone reading this to help with the intention of dissipating these catastrophic events. I feel that the collective consciousness is a very powerful thing that should be recognized. Everything responds to vibration and the power that our thoughts have to attract or change events is enormous. Please use your intention as often as you like, but particularly during the times of 9AM and 9PM.</p>

<p>Sue became involved with Healing Touch in 1998 and received her certification as a Healing Touch practitioner in 2002. She is also a Certified Integrated Energy Therapy Practitioner, a Reiki Practitioner, and a Quantum Touch Practitioner. She uses energy-based therapies for trauma release work with success for people suffering with PTSD or for anyone who has had a traumatic experience in their lives. She has been a guest speaker for numerous organizations, as well as presenting at state conferences. Sue has written articles on energy work for alternative and complementary newsletters and online publications.</p>
<p>She has developed material and has been a trainer for education classes for child care, stress management seminars and subtle body energy workshops. She has been able to integrate energy based therapies into local hospital&#8217;s operating and recovery rooms as well as providing these therapies to newborn babies at a local hospital. As a volunteer at health fairs and cancer survivor retreats offering energy based therapies, Sue has gained experience in dealing with a variety of health challenges.</p>

<p>How many ways can you think of to give random acts of kindness?  I would love to hear your suggestions and comments on ones that you have tried and the responses.</p>
<p>1.Buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you at the coffee shop.<br />
2.Prepare a meal for an elderly neighbor.<br />
3.Bring flowers to someone in the nursing home who doesn&#8217;t get visitors.<br />
4.Read a poem to someone who is visually impaired.<br />
5.Bring homemade cookies to the homeless shelter.<br />
6.Mow your neighbor&#8217;s yard.<br />
7.After garbage pickup, bring your neighbor&#8217;s trash can back to their house.<br />
8.Give up your seat on the bus to someone.<br />
9.Hold the door open for someone with small children or packages.<br />
10.Smile at 10 people everyday.</p>

<p>It is based on a heart-centered caring relationship in which the practitioner and client come together energetically to facilitate the client&#8217;s health and healing.  It is appropriate for everyone and can take place in any setting, including hospitals, schools, hospices, homes and offices. If one area of your life is not in balance, then it affects the other areas.  I can provide support and guidance into areas of your life that you would like to improve upon.  </p>

This is especially true as we have more demanding jobs, responsibilities, possibly being a single parent or learning to be single again after a long marriage and the stress of financial situations. </p>
<p>What about taking care of us?  It’s not being selfish to make a conscious effort to take care of us.  For, if we don’t recharge our batteries from time to time, how do we expect to recharge anyone else’s batteries?</p>
<p>We really have no idea how powerful we are. We tend to see ourselves as just this one person in an enormous world.   We can make a difference.  We can be the change that we want to see.  But it starts with taking care of us. </p>
<p>When you feel that you need to recharge your batteries, what do you do?  What are some solutions or things that you can incorporate into your life?  </p>
<p>Do you feel that you don’t have time for exercise, meditation, Yoga, energy sessions, a massage, facial or a relaxing bath a walk in nature.  One of the simplest things that you can do is to take deep breaths whenever you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed.  Whenever you notice that your breathing becomes shallow or rapid, take a deep breath.  As you breathe in, slow down each breath in and out.  Feel your body relaxing as you mentally say to yourself, “I am more relaxed, and I feel peace and calm.” It only takes a few minutes and sometimes just a few seconds to feel refreshed as you take in a breath of fresh air and rejuvenate.</p>
<p>Our outlook on life, our emotions and thoughts play an important part in helping to recharge our batteries.  People with positive attitudes tend to live longer, have better immune systems and are happier.  Instead of looking at the problems or challenges in your life, look for the solutions.  Looking for the solution gives the situation a positive spin instead of focusing on the negative and perpetuating more negativity.  </p>
<p>Allow yourself to enjoy each day, each moment, for that period of time will be gone forever.  Allow yourself to play and not to take yourself or anyone else too seriously. Realize that you cannot change anyone but yourself. But, you can change how you react to someone else that pushes your buttons. Then sit back and notice how that makes a difference. There may be situations in which you have no control over what happens and realize that you cannot affect the outcome no matter what you do.  Recognize that life is not stagnant and is subject to change in every moment, creating challenges along the way. With change, comes transformation and progress. </p>
<p>Take time to recharge your batteries…you deserve it!</p>

<p>When life seems to be going in many directions at once, think about conscious intentional relaxation. It is simply bringing your awareness and your intention to allow your mind, body and spirit to relax. It only takes a few seconds or minutes, but how often do we take the time to do this?</p>
<p>As you concentrate on your breathe and not your mind, this feeling of relaxation takes you deeper inside yourself. The relaxation response helps you feel supported inside so that you can remain centered in the highest vibrations of love, peace and oneness. This is the only way you can experience what you truly want in your life.</p>
<p>The combination of our awareness of our breathing and being conscious about our intention to relax can have significant effects on the mind,the body and one’s moods. This helps you become more physically relaxed and mentally centered. This is something simple and quick that can help you feel relaxed, alert, and more ready for anything.</p>
<p>By setting our intention to relax, we also warm our heart; uplift our spirit, which gives us the space to remain confident.</p>
<p>Our intentions play a very important role in our lives. Become aware of your intentions throughout your day and consciously set your intention to relax. This is especially important when life seems to be overwhelming or we are surrounded by chaos. These are the times when it most important to make a habit of setting your intentions to relax. This will have a cumulative effect, the more you intentionally relax your mind,body and spirit. Your body, mind, and spirit will react to this conditioned response and become more relaxed and able to cope with the ups and downs of life.</p>
<p>Go to the safe space within your heart that is filled with love, joy and abundance NOW and intentionally RELAX.</p>

Sue has always been a proponent of using natural methods whenever possible. So, when the opportunity became available to use natural therapeutic therapies to help individuals achieve a return to wholeness, she pursued this path and became certified as a Healing Touch Practitioner. Sue became involved with Healing Touch in 1998 and received her certification as a Healing Touch practitioner in 2002. She is also a Certified Integrated Energy Therapy Practitioner, a Reiki Practitioner, and a Quantum Touch Practitioner. She also uses energy-based therapies for trauma release work with success. When working with Volunteers of America, Sue was able to provide sessions for disaster relief workers as well as members of the National Guard while they were dealing with the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita in La. Sue has worked with traditional medical facilities, oncology clinics and hospice organizations and has assisted clients in operating and recovery rooms providing energy based modalities.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you thought about all of the fears that we are exposed to on a daily basis?</p>
<p>Usually fear is something that we think MIGHT happen rather than what is happening now, in the present. So, basically, fear is a future thing.<br />
We can view fear as a projection into the future of what could happen. The majority of what we fear usually does not materialize. When we allow the fear to control us, then that makes it stronger by interacting with it. </p>
<p>Not a day goes by that we are not blasted with fear through the news media.  This is instilling more fear in our minds and keeping it there. By constantly being exposed to the fear based channels, you are generating more of that fear by giving it more power. </p>
<p>Instead of being concerned with things that you cannot change, visualize what you would like to happen. Keep your focus on a positive outcome.</p>
<p>What about the fear from the past or feelings of panic or anxiety that comes out of nowhere? If you have ever experienced PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) or severe or chronic stress, then possibly you may be re-living that traumatic event or events and not be aware of it.</p>
<p>Everyone at one time or another in their lifetime has had an event or situation that would be considered as traumatic. It can be a series of events, abuse, fear produced by a critical and unsupportive parent or anything that produces a feeling of helplessness. These experiences can be overwhelming and dealing with emotions can be difficult. </p>
<p><a href="http://theeurekanetwork.com/are-we-programmed-for-fear.html/boy-so-much-more-2" rel="attachment wp-att-1192"><img src="http://theeurekanetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/boy-so-much-more-300x198.jpg" alt="boy so much more" width="300" height="198" class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1192" /></a>Although the event has ended, the memories may last for months or years to come.</p>
<p>One way that these emotions may be released from the part of the brain that stores these memories is with energy-based therapies. </p>
<p>Energy-based therapies use techniques that address all levels of the individual: mental, emotional, spiritual as well as physical and allow the person to heal on whatever level is needed.</p>
<p>What happens in our bodies and our brain when we perceive a threatening situation or we have been through a traumatic situation? Feelings of anger, rage, fear, avoidance and defensiveness are involved in the limbic brain or our emotional brain. </p>
<p>There are unconscious memory centers in our brains that store these traumatic events. When we experience sensations, images, smells, sights or anything that remind us of the trauma, our body reacts as if being a present threat. The traumatic experience still exists in our brain and contains the emotional and conscious memory traces of the event. Our brains are unable to release this message of threat that it is receiving and shows up as symptoms of fear and anxiety.</p>
<p>Using energy based techniques such as Healing Touch can help to release these stuck emotions and give the person a sense of peace and well-being. Practitioners act as facilitators in assisting the individual in their journey to self heal.</p>

<p>These techniques help to remove congested or blocked energy in the body. When the energy is not flowing because of unresolved physical or emotional, mental or spiritual reasons, this causes stagnant energy flow. </p>
<p>Research has shown that there is an energy field around all matter. Think about the times that you enter a room and can tell if there is any tension in the room. Also, do you notice when someone walks into a room and you &#8220;sense their presence&#8221; before you actually see them? What you are experiencing is their energy field.</p>
<p>Energy based techniques work with the energy fields,helping to balance the body on all levels-physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. These therapies address the whole person, not just the symptoms.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Everything that has ever happened in our lives affects our bodies. Stress and emotions such as fear, distrust and anger cause us to become out of balance. When we are out of balance illness and disease may occur.</p>
<p>You are what you say, think and feel. Are there ideas or attitudes that you have that have made a difference in your life? Can you pinpoint what they are? What you say and think may affect you more than you realize. We create our reality with our words and thoughts&#8230;</p>
<p>Throughout our lifetime, our body has kept a perfect copy of our every word, thought, and emotion. These have been stored as cellular memory. As a result, we have become what we say, think, and feel. Whenever we have negative thoughts or feelings, these become lodged in our subconscious mind/body. </p>
<p>As a result, this becomes a challenge to change or eliminate, as we may not be aware that they are there. Over time these memories develop into blockages of energy. Blocked energy, disharmonious or congested energy is usually connected with emotional trauma, illness, disease or injury.</p>
<p>We create what we focus on. How often during the day are you focused on what you REALLY WANT? Is it even 10% of the time? This is important, as we are always creating more of whatever we are focused on. This can be hard as we discuss problems in our lives; we actually BRING MORE of it into our lives. </p>
<p>Have you ever said to yourself:<br />
As soon as I finish this, I am going to crash and burn?<br />
This is a pain in the neck<br />
This job is killing me<br />
No pain, no gain<br />
I never have any money<br />
I will never get good grades<br />
I am breaking my back to do this</p>
<p>Do you realize no matter what you say, you are giving your subconscious a message? These messages are all negative and the body is going to carry out your instructions. So when you say these things repeatedly, the body gets the idea that the back should be broken, you should have a pain in your neck, etc. </p>
<p>It will ensure that you never have any money and never get good grades. Is this what you really want? If not, stop saying these things, even if you are only joking. </p>
<p>A study was done which had participants concentrate on appreciation and love for 5 minutes. The results showed that this helped a component of the immune system for 1-6 hours. Conversely, being angry for 5 minutes caused heart irregularities for several hours.</p>
<p>You can change the limitations imposed upon you by negative programming and a restrictive belief system. A negative mental state is a breeding ground for disease. </p>
<p>Thoughts are real. Words send out a very powerful message-much more powerful that is usually understood. We continually send out messages to those around us and to ourselves-to our conscious and unconscious mind. When negative thoughts disturb you, you must use words to change their negative effect. Neutralize it with a positive imagery. Think of something positive to take its place.</p>
<p>In order to create what you want in your life, it is important to be consciously aware of what you are feeling and thinking all of the time. It is a challenge to become aware of our emotions and how they affect us, but it can also be very rewarding beyond what we can imagine.</p>
<p>The mental body must be healed as well as the physical body to regain harmony and be freed from disease. The effect of negative thought patterns can be reversed and the negative programming itself can be replaced with positive programming, which will nourish you and provide the structure for good health and happiness. </p>
<p>Once you transcend negativity, you will come back into balance and the healing energy will flow. You are far more than you think. Whatever your limitations, they are self-imposed. There is extraordinary potential and healing power in all of us that lies dormant within us.</p>
<p>One way to regulate our thoughts is through meditation. Meditation is the discipline of Thought Control. Control your thoughts and you will control your life. Its that simple. God gave us free will. Therefore, we can choose to crate a satisfying life or we can choose to create a dissatisfying life. The choice is always our own.</p>
<p>When we use the term I AM, such as I AM willing, we are surrendering the fears and limited thoughts to be transformed. When we are willing to change our attitudes, we enter a state of surrender. In the state of surrender, all things are possible. This then is the state in which miracles can occur.</p>
<p>Practice gratitude whenever you are feeling overwhelmed. As bad as things can get, there is always something to be grateful for: a beautiful day, a rainbow, wonderful people in our lives.</p>
<p>Energy work, such as Healing Touch, Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy, or breath work deals directly with the unconscious parts of the mind/body that contain negative energy inhibiting thoughts and feelings and helps to eliminate them. In particular, Integrated Energy Therapy works with getting the issues out of the tissues. </p>
<p>After an energy session, a normal flow of energy helps to eliminate these suppressed memories with ease as the person is restored to a balanced state.</p>
<p>Its time to focus on what you really want. This is why whatever you resist, persists and you attract what you fear. When you resist or fear something, you are focused on it. So, its a lot more fun to be focused on what you really want. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>February seems to be the month for Love, as we cannot help but see all of the Valentine Day advertising and merchandise out in stores.  </p>
<p>What is love all about?  Being loved and being in love is on the minds and hearts of many, especially at this time of year.  But where does the ability to love begin?  It begins with loving and accepting ourselves.  As this may seem like a self-fish act, it is one of the most important things that we can discover…. what is our capacity to love ourselves.  </p>
<p>For as we love ourselves, that love and acceptance of ourselves shines through and affects others along our path.  There is no one more deserving of love than you.  If this seems to be a strange or uncomfortable concept for you to embrace, start slowly as you notice the ripple effect that this has on others.</p>
<p>If you are in a loving relationship with someone else, appreciate that person and use this time to show gratitude to that person for being in your life.  Let that person know what that relationship brings to your life. </p>
<p>What are the qualities that your loved one brings to your life?  Are there others in your lives that bring love and joy to you?  Include family members, co- workers, and friends as you give recognition to all the love that is in your life.  This gift will outlast any that you may purchase and will be long remembered.  </p>
<p>By writing a list of positive qualities that this person has and how the relationship has made a difference in your life is an effective way to honor that relationship.</p>
<p>Start a new tradition this Valentine’s Day.  It doesn’t need to end once Valentine’s Day is over…continue sending Love and Gratitude throughout the year to those you care about.<br />
