Whenever Jupiter shifts signs there is a joyful sense of celebration. Not only does it herald the year of the Tiger on February 13, 2010 and all that that entails but it brings with it an expansiveness and exuberance to the energy of whatever sign it compliments. On January 18th Jupiter slipped happily into Pisces. Our energy and consciousness was encouraged to no longer be self-centered and purely selfish, but to move towards a group consciousness and for us to become more inclusive in our attitude to people and to life. A perfect example of this would be the heart centered altruistic response to the plight in Haiti…our souls came together in unison with a sense of “world responsibility’ towards a situation which was beyond border, thought forms, belief systems or race. In Pisces one experiences the highest manifestation of Jupiter….the majestic capacity to love unconditionally…to allow oneself to meld beyond the perimeters of the ego into a selfless capacity to serve. Jupiter represents boundaryless expression of self…Pisces represents the ephemeral, the creative, the altruistic, the sacrificial, water, mutability, emotion, and the Neptunian realms beyond our concrete mind. In times of great stress brought on by our Uranian, Saturnian, Plutonic squares it is nice to turn to Jupiter for where we will find relief in our lives…where we will be encouraged and held up by Spirit. This month’s column addresses your personal experience of Jupiter in Pisces.

ARIES: Mar 21st to April 19th

Jupiter in Pisces give all with Aries planets a “behind the scenes” cushion. With Saturn opposing your Sun and Pluto hammering away from a square, there is a huge shift going on for the Aries souls. But, there is hope. If life gets too tough, Jupiter will be there to prop you up. Where normally you could feel quite undone by moving ahead of yourself or pushing too hard, Jupiter will simply guide you steadily back onto your course and give you internal solace that you are really a “grand person” and that there is nothing to worry about. Your dreams could be far more lucid right now…would suggest keeping a dream journal. Jupiter is opening you up at subconscious levels…at times you could feel huge spiritual messages bubbling up from the subconscious.. Pay heed. Write them down. You are being gifted with intuitive guidance and the more you acknowledge it the greater your messages will become.

TAURUS: April 20 to May 20th

Two areas of life are impacted by Jupiter’s benevolent force: the friends who come and go in your life, and, the humanitarian activities which you choose to join or towards which you wish to contribute time and monies. All that you have poured into friendships over the years seems to flood back towards you at this time….in fact friends, could come to the forefront of your life in grand and positive ways encouraging you to step outside of the bubble of your life and try some new creative expressions. You could be drawn to serve “on a larger scale” in some way. All of a sudden the perimeter of your life could feel cramped. You feel a monumental desire to spread your wings…to try the untried…to follow your dreams…..some aspiration which may have lain buried away in the subconscious for a very long while. Perhaps you feel to serve in your local church, or pick up a paint brush and smear glorious color across a canvas, or take a trip to Rome with a friend…..something beyond the framework of your regular existence.. Drop the routines and cut loose. Take the plunge and do it!

GEMINI: May 21st to June 20th

Jupiter is launched at your solar midheaven. Translated, this is your year to excel in your professional life…..to seek freedom from the known and do something which touches your heart and brings exuberant joy to your life. This is YOUR year professionally. Think back to 12 years ago…what happened that was fortuitous and life altering? With your great mental agility, it is easy to slip around from topic to topic avoiding operating out of your “center”. You may become dependant on others to focus the potential of your inner being. Watch that you do not lose yourself in the needs or thoughts of others in such a way that you forget to check in with yourself and just what brings you an enduring sense of inner joy. Most Gemini are extremely popular because of the myriad of ideas that interest you…but you can then lead a life that is so far from your center that an inner sense of despair pervades your life…Slow down, go inward and readjust as this opportune time could lead you to unbelievable bliss in the realm of service and your chosen profession.

CANCER: June 21st to July 22nd

As Jupiter happily trines with your watery Moon sign, it could feel as if the sun has come out and life takes a turn for the better. You’re your natural instinct is to warm, soothe, heal and nourish others. In doing so it is easy for you to become entrapped in the dramas and sorrows of others’ lives putting your own life on hold. Over time this can lead to brooding and inner resentment as you feel bereft and alone in a group of people. Jupiter’s gift is self enlightenment. It rides through your solar house of the higher mind…encouraging travel (physically and mentally) into realms hitherto unexplored. Although you derive your greatest joy through giving, nourishing or experiencing birth in some way, when your identity is not centered within your essence your lifestyle can become a hectic turmoil of impersonal emotion and reactiveness. Take time out to join a meditation class, initiate a new spiritual study or enlarge your understanding of the interrelatedness of individual Beings…Stay open while grounding yourself within yourself. The gift? An extraordinary opening to a spiritual life which will feed you beyond what you could imagine.

LEO: July 23rd to August 22nd

Your greatest gift from Jupiter’s entry into Pisces is a growing understanding of your capacity to forget the “small self” and dive deep into the greatness and grandeur of your own soul. Time to let yourself drop false belief systems about yourself. Many Leos come to see themselves as the source of other people’s salvation…a sort of guiding strength which redeems the lives of others. Instead of being in control of yourself, you become controlled by your environment and how others see you. Now is a grand opportunity to drop the tendency to allow the disparaging needs of others to easily dissipate your energies. Your sun sign holds within it the quintessence of the enlightened personality when and only when you first seek and honor your own light. Rather than living through the small self (ego) you can use a powerful sense of self to shed your light on all of humanity….

VIRGO: August 23rd to September 22nd

Jupiter brightens up your solar house of partnership. It enlightens your view of your own shadow self at the same time….that inner you which is often hard for you to discover so caught up are you in being incredibly hard on yourself and sometimes the critic also of those around you. Your sensitivity and how you view life is acutely aware of imperfection. What most do not realize about your soul is that your desire for Inner Purity is so great that you literally pick away at yourself until you dissolve into a mass of inner securities. Your desire to do the right thing can feel light a monumental burden which you now have the opportunity to set down by the side of your path as you move on feeling lighter and freer than ever before. In order to accomplish this you need to embark upon some forgiveness exercises; first and foremost forgiving yourself for whatever you may or may not have accomplished. Be gentle with yourself. Allow the Piscean inner self to become soothed and restored through quiet times near water…lounging in a warm bath or simply feeling a dissolution of all the edgy parts of yourself..

LIBRA: September 23rd to October 22nd

Saturn grinds away through the house of personality while Pluto forces introspection at depths that you could not previously imagine. The psyche is undergoing monumental change while the soul tosses and turns looking at the ego’s actions in new and more enlightened ways. Meanwhile Jupiter comes along to encourage you to gently care for your body…to develop a soothing regime which restores your energy and brings back a new sense of vigor and optimism to your soul. It has been a challenging period for Librans of late. The journey has become steeper…and you need to be acutely aware that you must tend to your physical and emotional needs. Be still. Take regular breaks from structure and become more like water…move out of the mind (you are an air sign after all!) becoming more flowing and serene. Many consider Libra feminine and aesthetic forgetting that it is a masculine sign with left brain tendencies. Time to bring back the balance of the feminine….moving into surrender, allowing and receptivity…

SCORPIO: October 23rd to November 21st

The inner worlds of Scorpio are undergoing a readjustment as Saturn sits heavily in the solar 12th house. The old insecurities and methods of creating self undoing are dissipating as you commence a new expression of life. A twelfth house Saturn points to the ending of a cycle of existence. A 29 year cycle…and for the next year and a half you could be tying up loose ends, closing off doors to negative behavior patterns and facing your deepest insecurities. But all of this is positive and is brightening your ability to become more conscious..more “light filled” more creative and filled with joy. The Phoenix is slowly rising out of a very long period of self acrimony or fragile self criticism to embrace an incredible new experience of existence. Jupiter sitting for a year in your fifth house of creative endeavors puts the icing on a newly created life. Your soul brims over with happiness as new opportunities arise over and over. Capitalize on this rare and expansive period!

SAGITTARIUS: November 22nd to December 21st

One foot in front of the other. Sagittarians are learning to keep their feet on the ground while their aspirations and visionary gifts remain broad and expansive. The challenge to the Sagittarian soul is “how do I reach my goals?” How to reach the end result in a pragmatic manner? As Saturn transits your “house of dreams” practicality creeps in, energizes, and brings structure to your life. The broad picture becomes condensed into practical step by step movements. Take time to explore the whys and wherefores of your actions. Jupiter in your solar fourth house assists you to unveil what has been holding you back…to explore your subconscious fears and shine light on ways to find your way out of procrastination. So many creative talents are at your disposal. But in order to maximize your gifts your mind must become more disciplined and orderly. Jupiter gives a broader understanding to how you must overcome your subliminal patterns of behavior which create self undoing. All in all it is an expansive period for you if you keep your nose to the grindstone.

CAPRICORN: December 22 to January 19th

Use your intuition to attune to new and ingenious ways to “get your message” out there….be it in a promotional way, as a writer, speaker or communicator in one form or another. Jupiter expands the solar Gemini house bringing forth great opportunities. Throughout the next year, you have an opportunity to achieve great works. Move forward prudently, checking and rechecking every decision or new direction so as to not get in “over your head..” The greatest difficulty which could arise is a complete detachment from your feeling nature. If you seek your worth through the eyes of others your need for approval gets out of balance. Be cautious not to become too wrapped up in an attachment to money, possessions and/or symbols of fame or status… On the other hand the highest manifestation of those of your sign is to follow the plan that is given to you by your soul….using your ability to consolidate as a means of focusing your greatest potential to its best possible use.

AQUARIUS: January 20 to February 18th

Jupiter enlarges your success in the house of values and day to day business. If you have embarked on a new project which brings a sense of change or new and futuristic understandings about life the planets are with you! You will feel a rejuvenating sense of inspiration as you move forward day by day to accomplish your goals. Yours is the sign of the rebel, the rule breaker, the “outside the box” thinker…but there can be a danger to adopt alternative opinions or lifestyles just for the sake of being rebellious. Allow your insatiable curiosity leads you to discover just why you are here, what is the depth and purpose of your individual contribution to humanity…As you thrive on your original mind and trust that it is sourcing from within you, your gift to the world grows exponentially. Instead of choosing what you do just for the sake of being a rebel, you now seek to bring forth new approaches, inventive ideas, and a unique sense of originality, unbiased and unfettered by the shackles of society’s traditions.

By freeing yourself from the drama or martyrdom associated with losing yourself in the negativity which others emanate, your abundant creativity begins to pour out of you like a bubbling fountain of life…This is truly your year!
