Have you ever felt when someone was staring at you? Have you been able to sense another person’s presence before you actually saw or heard that person? When you are around certain people, do you sometimes feel drained? Have you ever walked into a room and tightened up, felt angry or wanted to leave? Are there others who make you feel uplifted or happy just being around them? What you are experiencing are the energy fields around other people that are invisible or unseen by most individuals.

Invisible energies shape the way you feel, the way you think and the way you live. You can use these energies for your health and well-being. The first practitioner of energy medicine is you. We all have the power to assist in healing through a simple science of energy. The ability to heal oneself or others is considered a natural potential. Anyone who has a pure intent to help can develop this innate ability with knowledge and practice.

Dramatic shifts in medicine are happening all around us now. There is growing interest in learning more about alternative and complementary therapies. We are ultimately responsible for our own health. Previously, western medicine has looked at our physical bodies from a symptom relieving solution such as drugs or surgery. If this approach was effective, we wouldn’t be spending billions of dollars on prescriptions each year and still have the chronic diseases and illnesses that we have today. So, if we want to make changes in our lives, it is evident that we need to move in a new direction. There is an old saying, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got”.

By using light touch, energy therapies help individuals to restore wholeness by balancing the energy field that surrounds the body. In ancient times, mystics or clairvoyants were able to perceive these emanations known as the aura. With new technology such as Kirlian photography, we are now able to capture these energy fields on film.

In an energy healing session the person is the focus and not the illness or symptoms. Trained healers are taught to identify energy imbalances. Western medicine commonly uses equipment such as lasers and x-rays to emit energy locally to a part of the body. Someone that is trained in energy medicine is able to assess imbalances and to emit energy to release this blocked energy or congestion, thus improving their health. This can be accomplished whether the person is physically with the therapist or not.

Our bodies can be compared to a river that is flowing naturally, unimpeded. But if something obstructs that flow of water such as a beaver’s dam, the water may still be able to flow, but not as efficiently. Once the congested or blocked area is released, the river is able to return to its normal state and begins flowing efficiently again. This is essentially what an energy therapist does in a session, helping your body to return to its natural state of harmony.

Our bodies are always working to get back to a healthy balanced state. A healing session begins a healing process that may continue for hours, days, weeks or even months after the session is over. The person usually experiences a sense of relaxation, an inner peace and a greater sense of well- being. Once you have started that healing process, changes will begin to take place. The changes may be subtle, but a healing has occurred whether you are aware of it or not. When your body is in a total relaxation state, it is in a better position to heal.

Galatians 5:22–23

Want to be a better man? Love Jesus. And, if you love Him, you will obey Him.
In Galatians 5, Paul tells us that the fruits of sin (not obeying God) are the opposite of the fruits of the Spirit. In other words, loving God and obeying Him leads to the Holy Spirit working in us.
God’s Holy Spirit working in you has a radical impact. The Bible says it leads us to love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control—all the things we want! When I notice that I am not being the man I want to be—when I’m short with my wife, impatient with my kids, unkind, selfish an harsh—trying harder to be a nice guy never seems to work. Instead, when I repent— confess my shortcomings to God and ask Him to help me love Jesus more than anything else—He responds. His Holy Spirit works in me and changes me. And He can change you too.
Which fruits of the Spirit are the least evident in your life?

Talk with some guys about these struggles.
Share which fruits you see the most in each other.
Pray together that God will change your hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.Deuteronomy 6:5

“Love God and do what you want,” said St. Augustine, perhaps the greatest theologian that has ever walked the face of the earth.
Augustine understood Jesus. When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 6:5. Augustine was merely paraphrasing Jesus. When you do love God this way, you will want to do everything that God wants you to do. Loving God with the totality of your being leads to obeying Him in the same way. It’s performance out of the overflow of relationship— not the other way around. Obeying God so that He will love you is making God’s actions dependent on yours. That’s an approach that is perfectly designed to produce either pride or guilt.
Christianity is loving God with everything you’ve got—it’s a system perfectly designed to produce obedience. So go ahead: Love God and do what you want. If you really love Him, ou’ll want to do what He wants!
