- The Healer Within
Research indicates that kindness raises our serotonin(the feel good hormone) levels in our bodies, whether we are the recipient or the giver. This re-inerates the adage “in giving, you also receive”.
How many ways can you think of to give random acts of kindness? I would love to hear your suggestions and comments on ones that you have tried and the responses.
1.Buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you at the coffee shop.
2.Prepare a meal for an elderly neighbor.
3.Bring flowers to someone in the nursing home who doesn’t get visitors.
4.Read a poem to someone who is visually impaired.
5.Bring homemade cookies to the homeless shelter.
6.Mow your neighbor’s yard.
7.After garbage pickup, bring your neighbor’s trash can back to their house.
8.Give up your seat on the bus to someone.
9.Hold the door open for someone with small children or packages.
10.Smile at 10 people everyday.
